Has anyone started having lambs from Vikings FuzzBall Ram and how are they turning out
-
I will let you know in Feb. I am AIing to him this Saturday.
-
There were a lot of people that bred ewes to him in May at a clinic held in my area. There should be quite a few lambs around mid-October.
-
Josh I will be exited to here how yours turn out and the others due this fall we are using him as we'll keep me posted
-
I'll be following this thread.
We bred 5 ewes to Fuzball and 7 to Steel Banana mid August.
All five took with FB.
2 re-bred with SB.
I'll take 83% all day long.
-
Did you use fresh or frozen semen
-
We used fresh semen from both Rams
-
Well have any of you started having fuzz ball lambs yet
-
Those who bred to Fuzz Ball at the Modesto Junior College clinic should have completed lambing last week. My lambs from the clinic are now 7-10 days old.
I bred 7 to Tomcat and 7 to 202. Frozen semen from both rams.
Tomcat 5 of 7 settled
202 3 of 7 settled
57% settled. Miscommunication with host site was most likely the reason for my much lower than usual, but still good, take rate with Viking.
Final count for Tomcat: 2 singles, 1 set of twins, 2 sets of triplets
202: 1 single, 2 sets of twins
Next year I plan to use Steel Banana and Fuzz Ball.
-
No Fuzz Ball Lambs yet. We won't have any until late January.
I'll keep everybody posted on quality. We have lambs coming from fuzz ball and steel banana. Very excited.
-
well I couldn't afford to do AI this year but I still hope to next year if I can save up enough, we have 11 lambs right now lost 2 so our fall breeding was around 80% conception which is pretty good for us. thanks for the info guys
-
My Fuzzball lambs should come first week of February all my November lambs were born in a 2 day period 5 ewes bred 12 lambs not s bad average all are doing very well hopefully someone has had some Fireball lambs that can give us some input

Fuzzball lambs
-
We're still about a month away.
Then it's going to be one giant cluster as we'll have about 20 ewes that we AI'd all lambing within a few days.
Then we'll have the remaining ewes come in over the next month.

I've heard they have been amazing! I was sent this picture of one from a small time breeder. We have 23 due in 2 1/2 weeks. The semen was amazing quality. We only had two that didn't stick!
-
Ashley did you use fresh or frozen semen from Fuzzball
-
I don't know if it's a problem with my browser but I am unable to see the photo.
-
Laura I couldn’t see them either but messaged her directly and she sent them to me
-
Peter, thank you for suggesting it. I just sent her a message.
-
Well not mutch chatter about the Fuzzball lambs are they looking good or just average sheep
-
I never received a reply so I haven't seen the Fuzzball babies. Sure would like to see photos posted of Fuzzball and Steel Banana babies.
-
Laura Fontana club lambs posted some pics a while back on the show lamb page
-
I did a search and found it. They look good! Thanks for your help!
-

-
I'm looking forward to seeing them!
-
Fransen club lambs has posted some nice Fuzzball lambs if you are wanting to see some mine are still pretty green so I am waiting a bit to post
-
Well, there hasn't been much activity here, so I was curious as to what success everyone had with Fuzzball.
From what I've seen, it was hit or miss with him.
We bred with 4 different rams last year.
All of our success came from Steel Banana.
Steel Banana produced 2 county fair champions.
So this year, we have bred all of our ewes to Steel Banana this year.
-
I bred 10 ewes to Fuzz Ball in May. I'm not sure how many conceived as I haven't had the time to draw blood. I'm looking forward to see what I get. I had wanted to breed some ewes to Steel Banana but there was an issue, I don't recall what, so I bred all to Fuzz Ball. Next May I'll use Steel Banana.
-
We had great success last year for February lambs the Fuzzball lambs start off a bit slow but when they take off look out they will have hugerumps with a nice top had a few eye lid problems at birth but other than that pretty nice lambs I can’t figure out how to post pics or I would show you how ours looked at fair time
-
Love my Fuzzball babies. Just beautiful! Big rumps, level tops. Lots of bone. No eye lid problems. Plan to breed to him again!
