Ram - Ellerbrocks and Wheatons
« on: March 30, 2016, 12:28:35 pm »
Just curious - what do people see? Which are your favorites?  I am looking to see what others see off the same photos, sort of like the Online Sheep Show.
Here are the sale sites.  http://www.dwlivestock.com/cgi-bin/mndetails.cgi?willoughby773 and http://www.ssponlinesales.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?ssponline11/category/ALL

Personally, I like lot 5 of Ellerbrock's.  He is jack fronted, clean chested, square-big legged with just enough fur.  I would like to give him a bit more spring of rib.  RR is a plus.  This is a ram that would compliment my sheep well.

From Wheaton's I really like the Barely Legal lot 1.  He has that WOW factor.  For matching with my sheep the only concern that I would have is that I would like a bigger leg.

I would pick the Wheaton sheep as my favorite of the bunch just because of his eye appeal.  Let's just say that either would definitely move my program forward!!!

Nice sheep

Quick review of both sales, I think both picked the right sheep for lot 1. Josh, I sent you a PM.

I was thinking the same thing. Lot 1 of both sales impressed me the most.

Looks like buyers agreed with us Crystal as both sales high selling sheep was lot 1.  Did you get one Josh? The Wheaton ram sold for quite a bit of  money but the Ellerbrock rams were pretty good value if you thought they took your program forward.

I did not buy one Don. At that price, I almost pulled the trigger.  I have 2 APollo prospects that I am going to use next year and am waiting until next year to find another ram to compliment them.   Plus my wife would have killed me!
