« on: March 20, 2016, 09:16:49 am »
I have this problem a ewe that lambed a week ago she is always a good milker and mom, now she is not giving enough milk for her lamb. She had some bloody discharge for a week and I gave some penicillin, we are feeding her extra but isit to late? this is the first time I have had this and as you know I have been raising sheep for awhile

Jim, since you've been raising sheep for a long time and they milk OK, most likely it's not a specific ration issue.  Milk issues go with a pneumonia or other body infection.  What's her temperature?

When you say bloody discharge are you talking about from lambing or from her udder? Was she sick or off feed while she was discharging? Have you checked to make sure there is no mastitis?
