My ram is severely lame on all four feet and completely off feed. Not drinking much either and nose is really dry. No fever. This started yesterday morning with milder lameness and barely picking at his feed, but has gotten worse tonight to the point that he doesn't want to get up and when I make him, he hobbles around in pain and lays back down. No scours, no real feces of any kind. I did increase his grain slightly before this happen, from 1 lb to 1 1/2 lb, which I didn't think would be enough to cause this severe of a reaction. I treated him tonight with banamine and penicillin and started drenching him with electrolytes to keep him hydrated.
I just don't know if this is acidosis or something else entirely. Does anyone know anything else that can cause severe lameness all the way around and totally off feed?
