Success sharing - 2015 Dakota County Fair
« on: August 13, 2015, 02:23:40 pm »
Champion ewe exhibited by Caitlin Gillette and reserve champion showmanship winner, Lamb bred by Drewry Club Lambs.  I believe we have bred 10 of the last 12 champion ewes at this fair.  One of the two other years was a ewe one of my daughters showed that is the mother or grandmother of several of the champions.  The year we didn't breed or show the champion ewe was the year we didn't ID the yearling ewe we brought to the fair (minor screw up).

She's out of PointBlank, who we used as AI last year. Someone on the board might have bought him at the sale earlier this year.

Thanks for the comments. We're proud of producing many champion ewes (string includes some Polypay ewes from those days).  The market lamb show is always tougher and we had some of those championships but they for sure get divided up a lot more.  We did break the string of about 20 years where the champion market lamb had been bought from out of state several years ago with a home raised lamb.

Nice job Don.  Still kicking myself for not putting in another bid on Point Blank.
