: RamGo ?
: henry.paris March 06, 2017, 05:52:42 AM
I just saw an article about RamGo a non-surgical A.I. procedure for sheep. The procedure made reasonable sense to me, but I have zero experience with A.I. in sheep. Is this as advertised a new, economical ,and successful technique?

Wow,  just read this article. Certainly looks promising and the article has some educational photos as well.

Good article and I would look forward to try it, I was one of the AI people would was trained doing the other method in fact I still have all the equipment we had to turn the ewes over on their back in a turn table we bred several ewes or should I say we tried to breed them only on stuck and the lamb was not good I guess they didn't nick. but this way could be real good

Does anyone know if any of the techs are using this technique here in the US? Less invasive and less expensive both sound pretty enticing!

Dr. Justin Luther at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls specializes in Reproductice Physiology and is a Club Lamb Breeder.  He presented cervical AI in sheep at a Shepherds Clinic I was at recently.  The results the were seeing were actually pretty good - not quite as good as laproscopic but not far off.  The investment to get into it was relatively minimal.  He has a Facebook site of Reproductive Services LLC as he does offer AI for sheep and deer.

John, thanks for posting that Justin is doing this.  I was ignoring the idea until you pointed out someone that is about 35 miles from me can do this.  (And that I will probably see in 2 days.)
